Peninsula TITANS make history!

May 12^th, 2013 will mark the official day for GIANTS as they host their very first (1st) BACA league match against the Peninsula Titans. Though, the home ground of GIANTS has been used during friendly games against Stockton Cricket Club, Tracy Cricket Club and Pittsburg Cricket Club. The long awaited opener of a sanctioned match will take place on Sunday May 12^th, 2013 @ 10:30 am against the TITANS. So, one can say TITANS WILL MAKE HISTORY for GIANTS! With GIANTS 2-0 and Titans 1-1; both teams are geared towards a good start. As these teams battle on the playground for supremacy, the underline motive is to play cricket, have fun and enjoy the game and company. For that reason, GIANTS have invited a food truck “The Spicy Grill” to provide sustenance for our guests. With that said, don’t forget to come watch the Orange and black as they take the field against the Pen TITANS.    

GIANTS ready for BATTLE!!!

After a calculated win against the Thunderbolts last week, its time GIANTS get back into the saddle, sharpen their wits and get ready for the battle against Bay Area Cricket Club this Saturday. GIANTS team has been assembled, they wait as Gladiators, in the shadows, as they walk the dusty corridors of the arena where they will gloriously enter the cricket coliseum with their armor of orange and black. Color orange that runs deep in their veins, they know what they must do to achieve a great win. They have practiced every scenario; their Captains have a plan and they know there is no surrender till the end. Though the road to Championship is long and filled with challenges, GIANTS will stride into battle, one game, and one win at a time. GO GIANTS!!!     

Winning Attitude @ Camp GIANTS!

With the start of our pre-season 2013 opening social/warm-up games, it has given camp GIANTS the confidence and a winning attitude. Being the under dogs, and in our infancy stage GIANTS have managed in the past year to secure a playing facility, form a team, register itself with a summer league for 2013 and have had the opportunity to host several friendly warm-up games with Stockton CC, Pittsburg CC and soon with Tracy Cricket Club on March 30^th, 2013. Though the road to our success had many peaks and valleys, but the reward to see the attitude of the players, the burning desire to work towards a single purpose and goal as a team to do well in the upcoming season has been priceless. As we wait with anticipation, the club has been diligently working hard to realign themselves during practices, social games and league matches to take the ground in a storm. No doubt the competition will be hard, but as they say “where there is a will, there is a way” Principals of Lathrop Cricket Club are working hard trying to weed out good talent, that could give camp GIANTS an edge towards wins during league games scheduled to start in April 2013. Besides winning which is an underline core principal to any sport, GIANTS principals want to focus on the fun aspect of the game that will allow each player to enjoy their participation in sanctioned games and practices. Healthy competition is good for sports team, but one must not forget the whole premise is to have fun and get a chance to play cricket….Lets GO GIANTS! Huge Milestone Achieved

This is to inform our viewers, patrons, club members and followers. A huge milestone has been achieved by Lathrop GIANTS cricket club. We will soon become proud owners of a cricket pitch that will break ground on January 26th, 2013 at the Mossdale Landing Community Park 700 Town Centre Drive Lathrop CA 95330. A journey that began on May 2011, is finally coming true. Lathrop Giants will soon start their season on this state of the art facility for the 2013 season. As GIANTS look to join BACA where they will play either the T20 or 40 over game format, this pitch will be tested to its limits with GIANTS playing at the home turf or visiters coming to enjoy a round of cricket. This ground will provide adequate challenges to all; based on the fact it will be brand new and never tested. But, our GIANTS are looking forward to playing winning games on this turf. LPCL (Lathrop Premier Cricket League) a democratic club is presently collecting club member opinions and votes on the official GIANTS teams’ uniform colors. Even, though living under the shadow of SF GIANTS we know the base colors have to be orange and black. Lathrop Giants wants to stand out from SF Giants with addition of a different smaller color pallet within the jersey, not deviating away from the attraction of orange and black. LPCL officials want to narrow the choice down. So, soon an order could be placed with the manufacturer. LPCL is also very pleased that it has received good feedback to the colors that were placed as choices, now the question would be to narrow the choices down to one. All, thanks to our CFO Sadiq for coming up with a template that could be manipulated with so many color combination. Truly, LPCL is blessed with talents......
